In May we announced the WOGL CF Pro League. A league and tournament with a $1000 US Cash prize. The winner will also be able to go to China to represent CF NA/UK at the World E-Sport Masters in Oct/Nov of 2010.

Registration is underway and teams are practicing their skills and getting ready for the start of the league later this month!

But we are not content with just giving away prizes to the top 3 teams. We are here today to announce additional prizes for teams who register for the WOGL CF Pro League tournament between now and June 8th, 2010.

For every player that successfully registers for the League between now and June 8th will receive:

A 30 day M4A1-Adv to be delivered on or before June 8th. This item will also be given out to all players who have already registered.
A special 90-day WOGL Tournament in-game spray to be delivered to the account next month for the start of the league.

We are also giving away additional ZP prizes to those who qualify for the Elimination Tournament and finals.

Last week, we announced the WOGL Pro Cross Fire League. The best of the best will be competing for the grand prize of $1,000 US. We also promised to add even more fuel to the fire. Well, here it is:

The winner of the WOGL Pro Cross Fire League will also be crowned North America/UK Champions. What does that mean? It means they will get to send a 5-member team to compete in the International Cross Fire Competition at the World E-Sports Masters in China. This October, they will square off for huge prizes against Cross Fire teams from around the world including China, Russia, Japan, Vietnam, the Phillipines, and Korea. Transportation and accommodations will be provided for the 5-member team.

We have recently made some changes to the clan database to fix some common errors our users were experiencing. The clan application process should now be stable and in working order. Please make sure to report any problems to support or to our GMs on the forums.

In addition to these upgrades we have also recently changed the way Clan Leaders and Lieutenants access the clan management functions. You will now need to provide your account security question answer in order to perform the following functions:

Promote/Demote Lieutenants
Leadership changing
Disbanding the clan

UK Server + March of the Ghosts Events

Last month, the highly-anticipated Mutation Mode was released and we managed to satisfy a huge number of our rabid fan base. Cross Fire players flooded the game in record numbers and there’s still no sign of slowing down.

Not one to rest on our laurels, Z8Games is proud to announce the release of a brand new UK server! Players in the UK can now enjoy better ping and an even better gameplay experience as a result. We hope that with the introduction of the UK server, our hugely diverse community will grow even more.

But wait! That’s not all! All through the month of March we will be hosting March of the Ghosts events!

1. March of the Ghosts Tournament

Once again, Cross Fire clans will battle head to head in the hopes of being crowned tournament champions. A total of 32 clans consisting of 8 members each will be able to sign up for the tournament on March 12. Round 1 is scheduled to start on March 18, where clans will match up in 5v5 battles. I am deeply disturbed by our current plight. In the war on terror we are currently at a loss and this is unacceptable!

Perhaps I didn't properly illustrate the importance of this mission. The cargo we have been tasked with protecting is precious. If it were to fall into the hands of our enemy, the impact on the world as we know it would be disastrous. As protectors of the free world we cannot let this happen!

It has also come to my attention that Black List may have employed questionable harvesting tactics in gaining their lead. Luckily, I have taken action to level the playing field. Know this! We are proud to announce that premier gaming league, the WOGL, has decided to host an opening Cross Fire tournament. This comes following the tremendous success of their Exhibition match between CF clans, Lifeline and Trio (watch it here!). Thanks CF community! Your interest in that match made this happen!

The tournament promises to be a huge event, so the prizes are pretty serious:

Updates: Event = Success, Xfire Video Contest, and a Not So Subtle Hint

Greetings Soldiers,

We're back with a few quick updates regarding recent and upcoming events. Up first, Rival Factions...

The Cross Fire community has been rightfully divided and the war is fully underway with point totals for each team now in the millions!

We're glad to see that the players have taken to the rivalry and to all those fence-sitters out there, this is war! A battlefield is no place for spectators or sissies! Choose your side now here.

Black List, lead by the mysterious Ghost, currently lead in the war, though the scores are tight. Alex Roid and the Global Risk team will have to turn things around quickly though because Mission One (RF-01) will end on February 03, 2010. That morning, the final scores will be updated and the winner for this mission will be declared. Shortly after, De-Briefings for each side will be posted on the "Current Missions" page which will reveal the conclusion of this mission and hint towards the next. Oh yeah, prizes will also be distributed to members of the winning clan.

Next up we have the Xfire Video Contest. The event so far has been a tremendous success and from what I can tell the Cross Fire category leads in the total number of submissions, so congratulations to you guys! Keep up the good work because the VCAs will run until February 22nd, 2010. Good luck to all entrants! Check out the contest page here. EDIT: I was just notified that Xfire received an update that should make the video capture feature work for Windows Vista and 7 users.

Rival Factions Has Begun! Choose Your Side!

What started as just a twinkle in a young Z8Games employee's eye, has now evolved into "Rival Factions" an ongoing and exclusive event unlike any other.

This event will let Cross Fire players finally show their allegiance to Global Risk or Black List, and give the game a cool story that you the fans can influence and have a say in. Here's how it works:

- Choose your faction, either Black List or Global Risk, here. Once you do, you will be automatically put into the game-wide clan for either team. This will not affect your current clan allegiances or point totals! Choose wisely because there is currently no way of going back once you pick a side!

- Visit the Rival Factions page to see the current world map and general description of the event. The world map and past missions timeline will be updated as missions are completed to reflect the territory held by each faction.

- In the "Current Mission" section, you can view the latest mission briefing which finally reveals mysterious characters like Sir Alex Roid and Ghost. Mission One (RF-01) takes place on the Transport Ship map. The scoring rules for playing on this map are given, and the current scores for each side can be viewed. Overall scores and leaderboards will be updated once a day with the first update happening tomorrow morning.

- Depending on the winner of the current mission, the storyline will take different directions. Awards will also be distributed to members of the winning faction, so make sure you join one of the clans.

Crimson Snow In-Game Event

Z8Games is proud to announce that starting December 18th, 2009 at 2:00PM EST, and running through Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2009 at 5:00PM EST, it will be hosting a special “Crimson Snow Event" in honor of the holiday season.

As part of the event, players who play Cross Fire for 2 hours will receive 2000 GP, per day played. Playing for two hours will not only net players the additional GP, but they will also be entered automatically into a daily draw for a free in-game Santa hat. On the last day of the event, Christmas Eve, Z8Games will be drawing three grand prizes, consisting of a permanent Christmas AWM-Adv, 100,000 GP, and lastly 10 Christmas ZP crates.

- Thanksgiving Turkey Helmet and Turkey Backpack
- New Anti-Hack System
- Windows 7 32-bit & 64-bit support
- Delta Server now offers + 5% GP on all games
- Various other major game updates, exploit and game fixes

* The new anti-hack program has blocked all known hacks in the game and offers numerous benefits including faster game loading and increased compatibility across systems. Due to the change however, much of the game code has changed and unforeseen bugs may arise in play. We're asking players to please submit bugs via our Technical Support forums as they encounter them. [CF] Patch Notes 09-22-2009

As of early this morning, Cross Fire has been patched with new content and a number of functionality improvements. Upon launching Cross Fire today, you will be prompted to update your game client. Please be patient as your client updates, we estimate that traffic will be heavy for at least a day following the upgrade as everyone updates to the latest client.

The biggest addition in this patch is a new Search & Destroy map called, 'Santoria'. Additionally, the Black Market has overhauled with a new user interface and a few new weapons have been added to the coupon exchange, one of which is the highly-anticipated Golden M4A-1!

Micellaneous updates and improvements include a new widescreen resolution, the ability to move the game window around, an improved UI for comparing weapons, and new game sorting options in server channels.

[CF] Server Maintenance 08-06-2009

The Cross Fire servers will be down for 2 - 4 hours on Thursday August 6th 2009 at 1:00 AM EST as we perform server maintenance and update the game. After the Cross Fire servers come back online you will need to patch your client. Please check http://timeanddate.com if you need to convert EST to your local time zone.

This will be a large patch that will include many new weapons, 2 new maps, and a variety of changes/additions to the game. Once the patch goes live, we will place the patch note here and on the forums.

If you have any issues with this patch, please check our Technical Support forum for the latest common solutions and we will do our best to address your problem.
